   • the numbers left the typewriter face: data is set in inter with tabular figures, so the dotted zero is gone.
   • the name has its own face now, clash display. it is the one place the site shows off.

   • the whole site is set in inter now, the closest face to apple's san francisco. the serif display face is gone.
   • hierarchy comes from weight and tighter spacing at display sizes instead of a second typeface.

   • the door opens once per visit. after it has played, every page loads straight to its content until the next session.

   • the signature moved to the bottom of the front page, under the quote.

   • the mark is rebuilt as clean geometry: straight edges and sharp points instead of the traced wobble, which read as pixelation up close.
   • the intro strikes now land hot: each bolt arrives with a crimson glow that cools into ink, the mark seats itself once whole, and the cut pieces shear apart as they leave.

   • the site opens with the mark. two strikes assemble the bolts, a slash crosses the screen right to left along the crossbar, and the page splits open on that line.
   • any click, key or scroll skips it. it does not play at all for visitors who ask for reduced motion.

   • the monogram is the real mark now: two s bolts crossing, with the gaps between them open instead of filled in.

    • the library is 92 covers now: every anime, game, film and show worth keeping. one piece is the only ranked one.
    • essays are written and published from the site itself, so a new one no longer needs a deploy.
    • the ss monogram is sharper, and larger on the front page.

    • the ss monogram is the site's icon. traced from the original to vector, so it is sharp at every size instead of a 91 pixel bitmap.
    • the monogram opens the front page, above the name.
    • the old icon was five colour bars, one per section, from back when there were five sections of a different kind.
    • the logbook is open. anyone can sign it.

    • the lab is now work, and the log is now writings. the old addresses redirect, so nothing that was shared is broken.
    • the logbook is its own room. the guest book used to sit under the essays; it has a door now, and the form comes before the notes.
    • five rooms, five colours. the logbook took the widest gap in the wheel, at 262.

    • the front page has its own colour, a fixed crimson, instead of borrowing the sound's live accent.

    • every section of the sound now names its period: last 4 weeks, last 6 months, or all time. the rank columns have headers.
    • album art on the records, the top tracks, and the last played.

    • removed every dash from the site's copy.

    • the sound expanded to eleven sections, including rank movement as a slope graph, a sparkline per artist, and the last fifty plays.
    • release years: every ranked track plotted on the year its record came out, 1972 to 2026.
    • listening clock: plays by hour of the day, in local time.
    • every chart is hand drawn absolute geometry. no chart library, no svg transforms, no animation.
    • the player shows the paused track when paused, and the last played track when nothing is on.

    • the sound reads the live spotify account instead of sample data.
    • spotify stopped returning genre tags, so the breakdown is by record instead.
